R&D Capabilities

Hangzhou Advance Gearbox Group Co., Ltd. is a key high-tech enterprise under the National Torch Program. It houses a National Enterprise Technology Center, a National Postdoctoral Research Station, the Zhejiang Provincial Key Laboratory of Gear Transmission Systems for High-end Intelligent Equipment, and the Zhejiang Advance Transmission Technology Research Institute.

Adhering to the R&D philosophy of "Absorb & Innovate, Independently Develop, Breakthrough in Key Areas", HAGG continuously strengthens and enhances its technological innovation capability by increasing R&D investment and optimizing R&D conditions and methods. It focuses on building an integrated "Industry-Academia-Research-Application" R&D system, advancing basic and generic technology research, and constructing innovation platforms. The Technology Center leads the domestic industry in scale, development capability, and testing means, boasting the widest coverage as a "gear transmission device R&D center" in China with industry-wide radiation capacity.

The Technology Center comprises 10 research institutes and 1 prototyping & testing center, covering multiple product fields including marine gearboxes, marine complete propulsion systems, wind turbine gearboxes, construction machinery gearboxes, rail transit gearboxes, automotive transfer cases, agricultural machinery transmission devices, and industrial gearboxes. Specialized institutes such as the Powder Metallurgy Research Institute, Hydraulic and Standardization Research Institute, Automatic Control Technology Research Institute, and Computer-Aided Engineering Research Institute provide strong technical support for the R&D of various assembly products.

Applying the latest domestic and international scientific research achievements, cutting-edge design methodologies, and state-of-art prototyping and testing equipment, the Technology Center actively undertakes national, provincial, and ministerial-level scientific research projects. It develops over 100 new products annually, maintaining its leading technological position in the industry. The projects—"Key Technologies and Industrialization of High-End Heavy-Duty Gear Transmission Systems" and "Research and Application of Key Technologies for High-Power Marine Gearbox Transmission and Propulsion Systems"—have won the Second Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award.

HAGG's Technology Center was established in 1995 and was recognized as a provincial-level technology center in Zhejiang Province by the Zhejiang Provincial Economic and Trade Commission in 1999.
