Recently, the Hangzhou Gear Forward-brand electric propulsion gearbox successfully supported the trial voyage of the ultra-large battery-powered container ship "COSCO Shipping Lvshui 01" in Yangzhou. This milestone vessel showcases China's cutting-edge technology in green shipping and highlights HAGG's robust expertise in the field of marine electric propulsion systems.
The vessel has a total length of 119.8 meters and a molded breadth of 23.6 meters. It is equipped with 36 containerized mobile power units (each with a capacity of 1,600 kilowatt-hours), enabling battery-swapping for extended operations. The ship relies entirely on battery power for propulsion throughout its entire voyage. This marks China's first independently designed, developed, and built pure-electric container ship—also the one with the largest battery capacity and possessing independent intellectual property rights. Meanwhile, HAGG provided the ship with high-performance, reliable electric propulsion gearboxes, ensuring stable operation and delivering robust power support even in challenging navigational conditions.
To ensure the vessel's smooth operation and the stable performance of its equipment, HAGG has also provided high-quality after-sales service and support for the ship. The company's expert team rigorously verified every aspect of the equipment's functionality, guaranteeing reliable operation under various working conditions.
