By the end of 2015, the large-megawatt tidal power gearbox had been successfully prototype-built, passed inspection, and was delivered to the customer for installation and commissioning. Currently, the project has entered the full-machine testing phase.

The tidal gearbox recently undertaken by Hangzhou Gear is the largest single-unit tidal power gearbox globally to date, with a generating capacity of 1.5 MW. , which will be applied in the first-phase demonstration project of the world's largest tidal energy project currently underway.
