On the morning of January 9, 2017, at the 2016 National Science and Technology Awards Ceremony, the project "Research and Application of Key Technologies for High-Power Marine Gearbox Transmission and Propulsion Systems," jointly submitted by HAGG. and institutions and enterprises including Zhejiang University, was awarded the Second Prize for National Scientific and Technological Progress.
The project successfully tackled the challenge of high efficiency. Key technologies for highly reliable, low-vibration, and low-noise marine propulsion systems address the challenges of low efficiency in large-ship propellers and the difficult-to-control cavitation pulsation pressures. These advancements have enabled independent design and integration, replacing imported foreign products and now being widely used in power propulsion systems for large vessels such as bulk carriers, research ships, and specialized naval vessels. This breakthrough is of significant importance in accelerating the rapid development of high-power marine vessels.
This marks the second time Hangchi has received the National Second Prize for Technological Progress, highlighting the company’s strong technological innovation edge and robust R&D capabilities. Moving forward, Hangchi will remain committed to driving growth through technological innovation, strengthening its industry-academia-research collaboration model, addressing critical technical challenges within the industry, and translating more scientific and technological achievements into practical applications.
