On May 27, the Xiaoshan District Workers' Technical Association held its 2016 Work Conference at the Xiaoshan District Federation of Trade Unions. Hu Boning, Deputy Inspector, Director of the Economic Department, and Director of the Technical Cooperation Office of the Hangzhou Municipal Federation of Trade Unions; Wang Bin, Executive Vice Chairman of the District Federation of Trade Unions and President of the District Workers' Technical Association; Yan Hanyi, Deputy Director of the Workers' Technical Collaboration Office of the Hangzhou Municipal Federation of Trade Unions; Tian Jianqiang, Director of the District Technical Association Office; and Xu Guiqin, Chairman of the HAGG Company Union and Vice President of the Xiaoshan District Workers' Technical Association, took their seats on the presidium to attend the meeting, which was chaired by Tian Jianqiang, Director of the District Technical Association Office.

The meeting began with Vice President Xu Guiqin reading out the "Decision on Commending ADVANCEd Units and Individuals of the Employee Technical Association in 2015" and the "Decision on Commending Outstanding Employee-Initiated Technological Innovation Achievements in 2015," followed by the award ceremony. Hangzhou Gear Technical Association was honored with the title of "ADVANCEd Unit" for the district-level technical association in 2015; meanwhile, its submitted technological innovation project titled "Improvement of Surface Quality and Cost Reduction/Efficiency Enhancement for Paper-Based Friction Plates Used in Agricultural and Forestry Tractors" was recognized as an outstanding employee-initiated technological innovation achievement in Xiaoshan District for 2015.

After the award ceremony, Chairman Wang Bin delivered a work report, reviewing the technical association's strategic approach for 2015. He highlighted four key initiatives—enhancing skills and competencies through diverse approaches, cultivating innovative talent; gathering wisdom and expertise in a multifaceted manner to spark entrepreneurial and innovative activities; leveraging multiple channels to commercialize technological achievements, thereby capitalizing on the advantages of entrepreneurship and innovation; and strengthening the organizational foundation from various angles to propel the growth of entrepreneurial and innovative endeavors. These "Four Multiples" and "Four Innovations" encapsulated the association's accomplishments in 2015 and set forth clear expectations for its work in 2016. Hu Boning, Director of the Municipal Technical Association Coordination Office, expressed strong appreciation for the outstanding efforts made by the Xiaoshan District Technical Association. He also emphasized four critical areas where technical association professionals should excel: first, diligently serving the broader societal and economic goals; second, continuously improving the skills and capabilities of the workforce; third, championing the spirit of craftsmanship; and fourth, reinforcing the standardized development of the technical association itself. Additionally, leaders attending the meeting urged all technical association members to firmly grasp the emerging trends in workers' technical development, staying closely aligned with the mission of "serving the G20 while contributing actively at the frontline." They emphasized that technical associations must fulfill their vital role in fostering both societal progress and corporate growth.
