On January 16, 2014, the 2013 Annual Corporate Quality Management Review Meeting was held in the Multi-functional Hall, chaired by General Manager Feng Guang. Chairman Mao Jianrong, along with members of the management team and leaders from various relevant departments, attended the meeting. The meeting summarized the achievements of 2013 and discussed the company’s quality management system operational goals for 2014.

Song Bin, Deputy Chief Engineer of the company, delivered the 2013 Annual Quality Management System Operation Report at the meeting, summarizing the year-long efforts to enhance quality in 2013 and outlining the strategies and plans for the company's quality management system operations in 2014.

In accordance with the company's three-year consecutive quality improvement initiative, the meeting set the quality targets for 2014 and 2015: While continuing to enhance customer acceptance rates, as well as reduce failure-related losses in marine and engineering products, zero-kilometer failure rates for engineering products, and improve the pass rates of key components and critical items, the meeting also introduced a new requirement—achieving higher first-run trial acceptance rates for marine and engineering products. Looking ahead to 2014, the company’s key quality system initiatives include: advancing supplier grading and integration management; ensuring that the Technical Center fully adopts 3D design tools; initiating the development of a next-generation clutch model aimed at minimizing friction plate burnout failures; establishing and implementing standardized pre-assembly preparation procedures; exploring and rolling out innovative equipment maintenance models; and further reducing thermal treatment deformation. The meeting clearly acknowledged that the company’s quality management system operated effectively in 2013, playing a significant role in boosting management across all business areas. However, it was also noted that there remains considerable room for improvement in the overall maturity and effectiveness of the quality management framework. To address this, all functional departments are urged to align their efforts with the 2014 quality management improvement projects outlined during the meeting, fostering a unified mindset, swiftly refining action plans, and systematically executing each initiative—ultimately elevating the company’s operational and managerial standards.
