The YH350 rail vehicle power-shift gearbox has successfully passed the installation and application review.

　　On December 15, 2011, Kunming CRRC Large Maintenance Machinery Group Co., Ltd. organized a technical review meeting on the installation and application of the newly developed YH350 rail vehicle power-shift gearbox from HAGG. The review was attended by experts from the Ministry of Railways, Beijing Railway Bureau, Central South University, and other relevant organizations. The meeting was held at Xiaoshan Hotel. Feng Guang, General Manager of HAGG, delivered a speech at the event, while Chief Engineer Zhang Zengxiang, along with leaders and staff from the Technology Center, Gear Manufacturing Plant, and Manufacturing Department, also participated in the meeting.

　　The expert panel and the delegation led by Kunming Zhongtie first conducted an on-site inspection of the YH350 gearbox assembly area at HAGG, then visited the testing site to observe the product bench tests. They also carefully reviewed aspects such as product manufacturing and quality control. After touring HAGG’s metrology and testing laboratories, the senior leaders highly praised the company’s robust quality assurance system.

　　The YH350 transmission is a new type of hydrodynamic gearbox developed by HAGG specifically for rail vehicles, featuring independent intellectual property rights and tailored to support Kunming Zhongtie. It consists of a hydrodynamic torque converter, a multi-speed power-shift gearbox, and an advanced control system, making it a hydrodynamic inline-shaft transmission. After rigorous preliminary reviews of the project plan and technical assessments, the project team successfully developed a prototype in less than one year through their collective efforts. During the review meeting, the HAGG’s YH350 Transmission Project Team provided a detailed report on the product’s structure, key technical specifications, analysis and calculations of critical components, as well as its overall performance. They also addressed each expert’s questions thoroughly. Through careful questioning and discussion, the review panel concluded that: the submitted documentation was comprehensive and fully met the evaluation criteria; the prototype’s functions precisely matched the design specifications; the independently developed electronic control module and gear selector effectively enabled smooth gear-shifting operations—demonstrated by bench tests showing that traction performance and shifting characteristics complied with requirements; the wet-type clutch installed at the input end of the working drive system facilitated seamless operational transitions; and the primary mounting interface dimensions were compatible with those of existing related vehicle models. Based on this thorough evaluation, the review panel unanimously approved the "YH350 Transmission Installation Application" and recommended proceeding with factory installation.

　　The successful development of the YH350 transmission fully demonstrates HAGG's strength in product R&D, manufacturing processes, and quality control. It will open up new avenues for product development within HAGG, while also contributing to breaking foreign technology blockades and achieving domestic production of China's large-scale railway maintenance machinery equipment.
