Recently, HAGG. successfully signed a contract for low-speed reduction gearboxes intended for 46,000-ton bulk carriers, marking a significant breakthrough for the HAGG in supplying main propulsion systems for low-speed diesel engines and establishing its foothold in the low-speed gearbox market.
Since receiving the information in April 2018, the Ship Machinery Company has closely aligned itself with the Group’s annual business objectives, actively exploring new market opportunities and engaging in multiple rounds of communication and collaboration with shipowners. With the supportive cooperation from the Hangzhou Gear Technology Center, the company persevered for over a year, ultimately securing the decision of the end user to select Hangzhou Gear gearboxes. As a result, a cooperative agreement was reached in early August 2019.
This gearbox features a fully sliding bearing design, making it the first of its kind in China's marine gearbox market. Capable of fully meeting the demands for high transmission capacity and substantial torque required by low-speed diesel engines, this gearbox not only enhances the efficiency of ships powered by such engines but also improves the overall stability of vessel operations.
Through the provision of gearboxes for low-speed diesel engine main propulsion systems, HAGG has successfully expanded its market and is poised to secure more customer orders in this field.
